How the Béa treatment actually works

Béa combines a clinical-grade fertility treatment called Intracervical Insemination (ICI) alongside embryologist-led support, to guide you through at-home insemination, every step of the way.

A modern take on an old clinical treatment

You can think of intracervical insemination (ICI) as the ‘primary care’ of fertility, the step you take when you’re ready for treatment but not ready for IVF.

How our version of ICI works:
The Béa Applicator reaches right up to the cervix, much further than a syringe can. With a twist of the handle, the cervical cap is deployed containing the semen, holding it directly against the cervix. It can stay in place for up to one hour, maximising YOUR chances of pregnancy.

Let's find out how to use the Béa Treatment Kit

Your Béa kit arrives, now what...

The Béa Applicator is designed to get you pregnant without the need for intercourse. We’ve thought carefully about each part to ensure it’s simple and comfortable for you to use.

Step One

Collect your semen sample

Collect a semen sample into the container provided, and pour the semen into the Béa Applicator through the orange funnel. Semen will flow down into the Béa Cervical Cap, which is located inside the Béa Applicator. Remove the funnel before the next step.

Step Two

Insert the Béa Applicator

Lie in a comfortable position and gently insert the Béa Applicator into the vagina. Once inserted, turn the handle to release the Béa Cervical Cap onto the cervix. Once released, you can remove the Applicator.

Step Three

The cervial cap is in place

The Béa Cervical Cap is now in place. You can now leave the cap in place for up to one hour. The Béa Cervical Cap works a little like a menstrual cup, so you shouldn't feel anything, and can go about your day as normal.

Step Four

Remove the cervical cap

After one hour, remove the Béa Cervical Cap using the removal string hanging outside the body (like a tampon). That's it. ICI done! Go about your day knowing you've given yourself the best chance of conceiving.
