Ava’s Story

Heterosexual couple 11 years Conceived 1st Béa cycle

Ok, let's start with the basics.

  • Type of couple: Heterosexual couple

  • Carrier: Ava, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

  • Partner: Male, no known fertility conditions

  • TTC: 11 years

  • Current status: 6.5 month old baby boy

First of all, where are you today?

I have a beautiful 6.5 month old baby boy, and I still can't believe this is real. My husband and I literally look at each other and ask "Is this really happening?" Even now, six months later, it's incredible.

Tell us about your fertility journey and how long you've been TTC...

This baby is 11 years in the making. We've had some real heartache along the way. I have polycystic ovary syndrome, so I was the issue while my husband's side of things was absolutely fine.

We went through everything the hospital could give us - Clomid and other tablets to try and make me ovulate. Nothing worked. We tried IUI (intrauterine insemination), which didn't work either. Then we went through IVF, and we were quite lucky with how many eggs I got. We did three different transfers from that one round of IVF. One was successful, but unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be.

Then I fell pregnant on my own about a month or two after that last IVF transfer - I don't know whether that was still going on in my system. But unfortunately, that one also wasn't meant to be.

We took a five-year break because my head wasn't where it should be for me to be able to go through this journey. Eventually we had a chat and realized we still wanted this, so we started saving for IVF again because I assumed that was the route I needed to take.

What made you decide to try Béa?

I think I saw an advert for Béa on Facebook or Instagram. I must have searched "IVF" on Google, which saved my search history and started showing me related ads. When the Béa fertility treatment came up, I thought "For £600, surely it's worth a try rather than spending thousands on IVF. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work."

It turned out to be the best £600 I have ever spent in my life. I would have spent so much more to be here now.

How did you feel about using the Béa Treatment?

It was so much easier than what I thought it would be. Everything is laid out for you in the kit with clear instruction manuals. I pre-read all the instructions so I knew what I was doing when the time came. When it came time to use it, it was really easy.

The difference between using Béa compared to going through IVF - mentally and physically - was incredible. With IVF, it's injections all the time, medication, and such a long, precise process. My husband really didn't like seeing me do the injections.

"The difference in literally just using the kit was natural - listen to your body. Your body saying 'right, okay, you're ovulating. Let's go with it.' And here we are now."

With Béa, we were doing ovulation testing, but it wasn't injections all the time or loads of different medication. It was literally just natural - listen to your body.

How do you feel about Béa now that you have your baby?

I tell everybody about it because I'm genuinely amazed. There's a lot of people - I think infertility is not really talked about as much as it should be. But when you are in it yourself, you kind of make everybody else discuss it as well.

I feel so lucky to even be in this situation because they'd said "you're not going to have children on your own." To then literally just use something that was so simple, to then be in this situation where I am a mummy and I've got my baby and I can give him cuddles - it's incredible. Really incredible.

"Lo and behold, on literally the first time, we were successful. It still makes me emotional now because it's just life changing."

How did your partner feel about Béa?

My husband didn't like the IVF process because he hated seeing me do the injections. But with Béa, the process was so much more natural and easier on both of us. We were successful on literally the first try.

How did it feel when you found out you were pregnant?

Surreal. Because obviously there's the two-week wait and you're skeptical - you've been through a lot of stuff before, so is it going to happen for you? When those two lines came back, I actually had to do three or four more tests because I just didn't believe it. I was like "No, surely not. Come on." But it was unreal. Life changing.

Would you recommend Béa to others that are TTC?

"Start thinking about it and do it. I cannot recommend it enough. The money is so worth it to get your dreams realized."

100% yes. I cannot recommend it enough. The money is so worth it to get your dreams realized. Honestly, it's worth it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I've got two kits upstairs still, and we're discussing whether we want another one. I'm just like, I feel so lucky to even have one that I don't know if I need to push that anymore. But the fact that it worked, I know it can work.

If I can help somebody else by sharing my story and it makes a difference for them to help their dreams come true, then it's worth it. I genuinely can't thank the company enough - my dreams have been realized.

We never thought we'd be here. We had given up that this was ever going to happen, and now to be in this situation - it really, really is life changing.
