First of all, where are you today?
I'm 19 weeks pregnant, due at the end of December - we're having a Christmas baby! After everything we've been through, I still can't quite believe it's real.
Tell us about your fertility journey and how long you've been TTC...
Our journey really started during lockdown when I began having strange symptoms. That's when everything kicked off. I saw a private GP who referred me to a specialist for testing. They suspected endometriosis but wouldn't offer me a laparoscopy at first.
Then in 2023, I had a miscarriage that led to sepsis. The recovery from that was long and really tough - physically and emotionally. I went back to private healthcare because I needed answers. Finally, in May 2024, I had a laparoscopy that confirmed severe endometriosis. They ablated it during the procedure, but by that point we'd been trying for a while and needed help.
I ended up on the waitlist for IVF through the NHS, which was when I came across Béa.
What made you decide to try Béa?
"I was on the waitlist for IVF but wasn't quite ready yet. Why wouldn't you try anything before IVF?"
I would get free IVF on the NHS, but I just wasn't ready to go down that route yet if I didn't have to. IVF is such a big step, and I thought - why wouldn't you try anything before that if you could?
When I found Béa, I was also working with a fertility acupuncturist and taking lots of supplements. After the sepsis, I really focused on getting myself to a better place both physically and emotionally. I felt ready to try something, and Béa seemed like the right option.
What was your experience using Béa?
There were some issues with the first applicator, which was frustrating. But when I contacted the Béa team, they were just so supportive and helpful. They quickly sent a free replacement kit, and honestly, they didn't need to do that - but it was just so nice. That's when you realize you're dealing with people who genuinely care.
I took a break between the first and second kit to reset a bit, and when I used the replacement, it was so easy. The instructions were really clear - I understood everything and just wanted to get on with it.
Is it expensive? Yes, kind of. But not compared to IVF, and honestly, it was worth every penny.
How did your partner feel about using Béa?
He was fine with it. I won't lie - it takes away some of the romance. But we were literally about to start IVF, which isn't particularly romantic either, so this felt like a much better option for us. At least we were at home, in control, doing it on our own terms.
How do you feel now that you're pregnant?
“Thank you. You've created a great product and ultimately it got me pregnant. I know it works and it was just so wonderful.”
I'm just so grateful. After the endometriosis diagnosis, the miscarriage, the sepsis, all of it - I never knew if this would happen for us. And now here we are, 19 weeks in, and it's just... wonderful. It really is.
Would you recommend Béa to others that are TTC?
100%. If you're not quite ready for IVF, or if you want to try something before going down that path, this is absolutely worth trying. The team is supportive, the product works, and you can do it in your own time at home. What more could you ask for?
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Honestly, the support from the Béa team was spot on. I knew if I needed help, I could ask for it. Everything was clear, and I didn't need anything more - I just wanted to get on with trying. And it worked. That's what matters.
